Membership

All are welcome

You do not need to be a member in order to shop at the Co-op. However, read below for the benefits of Membership.

Try it a couple times - While the online ordering system is reserved for Members, everyone has a free 2 week trial. And everyone has the opportunity to visit the Co-op and buy extras, if producers have them.

Regular Voting Membership

Contribution to the Co-op

  • $40 annual Investment, $20 for students/seniors/low-income
  • Pays a reduced sales surcharge - 4% on all orders through the online ordering system; Pays a 6% surcharge if no order is placed.
  • Agree to volunteer 18 hours throughout the year. Be involved in:
    • Co-op decision-making,
    • Distribution support - Cashiers and Greeters
    • Producer relations & farm visits,
    • Education & marketing

  • Renewal fee is waived for following year (if hours are completed)

Non-members

While we do encourage any and all to shop at the Co-op, those that make a financial commitment of Membership do have the benfits of a reduced surcharge. Non-members are expected to pay a 10% sales surcharge.

Why a Membership Investment?

We do ask that members pay a $40 membership investment. This amount goes toward the day-to-day operation of the Co-op. Our biggest expenses include

This is different from a regular grocery store. Those stores mark up the products significantly. We believe that the product price should go almost entirely to the producer. That is why we need membership fees and volunteers to help keep us in operation.
