Problems with Orders and Missed Pickups
Please call us (574-274-9889) if you know you are not able to pick up your order and are not able to get anyone to pick it up. If you do not pick up your order during the pick-up time, you are still responsible for paying for your order and unless other arrangements are made, the food will be donated to a local charity.
Purple Porch Cooperative facilitates the sale of products by local farmers and producers by providing an online marketplace. All transactions conducted through the online marketplace are between the user and the identified producer. As a facilitator, the Cooperative does expect Producers to follow the Cooperative's Producer Guidelines. However, because Purple Porch Cooperative is not the producer of items offered for sale, it cannot provide any warranty as to the quality of purchased items. Users of the online marketplace agree to assert any claim associated with purchased items directly against the producer.
On the distribution day, the Purple Porch Co-op collects the total amount from you as listed on your final invoice. This money is then redistributed to the Producers. At no time does the Co-op actually own the goods – we act as an agent on behalf of both you and the Producers. In fact, Producers do not get paid for their order until all the money is accounted for.
This is why it's so important that you pick up and pay for your order on the distribution day. If you do not arrive to pick up your order by the end of the pickup period, your order will be donated and you are still responsible for the cost of the order.
