Pre-pay Account
If you are a member that would like the convenience of paying for your food orders via the internet and eliminating the need to carry cash or write a check, then try this out.
This is completely optional and may not be for everyone!
This is how it works:
- First you'll "load up" your pre-pay account - this is a PayPal account (see below).
- As you come into checkout just indicate that you are using your prepay account - we'll make note and credit your account. If ever you want to know how much you have left - Take a look at your account online (new feature of new system).
- There is a fee from PayPal that we pass on to you for this convenience. For example, if you'd like to pre-pay $100, then you'll get charged $103.20 - $3.20 goes to PayPal, and 100 goes toward your Purple Porch orders.
- If you "overdraw," we can send an email invoice via PayPal asking for remaining balance – this will also remind you to “load up” their account.

Why are we offering this service? We'll admit that we're not fond of sending a small portion of your money to PayPal. But...
- Convenience at checkout – member indicates their prepay account and then leaves - no cash or check needed - especially good for families that have one person placing the order and another picking up the order.
- Shorten our checkout line. That's good for everyone!
- The Co-op gets paid up front and can earn interest on it as it is waiting to be spent by Member.
- Eliminate some of the post-Wednesday deposit work of the Co-op.
Note: There is no priority or favor given to those who chose this method or the traditional method of payment.
